Booking on line for winter alliances The team at HDU HQ have been working hard to change the way members of the Union book competitions and events .

The plan is to make the winter alliances at Thirsk (8th March) and Ripon (22nd March) our first 2 competitions where competitors will only be able to enter online. Entry for the Thirsk alliance opens on Weds 8th Feb at 9am.
If these are successful, events where the club has to nominate a team (Division champs etc) will continue to be form/email entry as per current process, events where members enter themselves/partners (Spring greensomes, Ogden trophy etc) these competitions will be online entry.

For information –
To enter online competitors will need to visit the HDUGC websitehttps://www.hdugc.co.uk/website/ → Competition entry and results tab → Future competitions and complete entry details.
When people enter online they will be booking into a block of time (similar to E/M/L) so we can assign tee times with different people. We will then be emailing competitors directly the start sheet alongside sending it to the clubs. At this time we are not asking people to pay online – this is a future enhancement we are looking at once we have made entry work successfully.

As you can imagine, as always with any change, its tricky to forecast what will happen however as most open competitions are now entry online and club competitions and tee times are mainly online I am hopeful that we can implement this ok before moving on to other items.
