GREENKEEPER UPDATE

The dry weather continues to aid the work of the Greenkeepers on the course ,turf will be arriving next week to complete the revamped bunkering on the 5th and covering the new teeing area on the 13th, our aim, weather permitting is to have the new grass tee open for the Season Opener.

Course conditions are as we had hoped considering the dryer weather, for those using trolleys you will have noticed the build-up of claggy mud around the wheels this is mainly down to the worm casts building up on the fairway and collecting around the wheels, since early 2019 we have been unable to use certain deterrents for worms and this is now one of the issues we face as we move away from old style treatments(however the worms are happy).

Winter aeration program on the greens will take place from Monday 13th February .this will be followed by GKB aeration from the 20th .This will be the first time we will use this type of aeration on our greens and we look forward to the results in the coming weeks and months .For this to take place we will have to have some greens with a flags at the side of the greens as the team complete the work.
