The Yorkshire Inter District Union 6 man team event held on the 10th September at Wakefield GC saw the close of another fine season for the HDUGC men’s team. Throughout the 2023 season, 31 talent players have given their time and support to represent the Men’s Team with 8 out of the 12 union clubs providing players – player list below;

Rudding – Marc Rice, Matt Wharldall, Lars Gustavsson, Phil Kitching, Dan Clark Coates and Alex Forbes
Oakdale – Chris Henderson, James Wilcox, Michael Robson, Rich Walker, Mark Bennison and Charlie Hayfield
Pannal – Dom Jesper, Will Hixon, Simon Walker, Jason Taylor and Charles Murray
Thirsk - Richard Fawcett, Oscar Knowles, Adam Watkin and Kev Parker
Bedale – Jonny Rayner, Dom Moon, Josh Newall and Dec Barclay.
Harrogate – Tom Birtwistle, Jack Ward and Joe Buckley.
Ripon – James Gaskell and Gordon Milne
Knaresborough – Carl Peirson.

As we know, the Harrogate Union is one of the smallest in terms of combined number of clubs in comparison to the larger unions such as Sheffield, Leeds etc. The team is always highly competitive and finds a way to grind results. However, we know we can achieve more, and to be able to do this, we need some investment to make some changes.

Our planning has begun for the next couple of seasons, and we are seeking some fresh financial support to help with.
• the introduction of new kit,
• matchday nutrition and refreshments,
• practice facilities and coaching
• general fitness and development of our players.

It is important to note, as part of any sponsorship, we would be delighted to include the placement of company logos on any kit purchased. Alongside, regular acknowledgments throughout the season through speeches and events. We will also promote you / your companies support via our social media channels.
